Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 September 2026
These terms govern use of Naviger, a free public beta route-planning service. By using the service, you agree to use it only as a planning aid and to verify all routes independently.
Beta Service
Naviger is experimental software. Features, route algorithms, data sources, limits, and availability may change at any time. Access may be suspended or withdrawn during beta testing.
The Service
Naviger is provided free of charge and without registration. It lets you calculate suggested sailing and motor routes between positions you choose, check routes you draw yourself, view the wind and current data used, save vessel settings in your own browser, and export routes as GPX or JSON files.
Technical Requirements
You need an internet connection and a current web browser (for example Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) with JavaScript, WebAssembly and Web Workers enabled, opening the site over https. Live position requires location permission in your browser. Long or detailed routes need more memory and may not complete on some phones or tablets. The Help page describes these requirements in detail.
Starting And Ending Use
The agreement to use Naviger starts when you begin using the planner and ends when you stop using it, for example by closing the page. There is no account to create or close. You may stop at any time. The operator may limit, suspend or end the service, including through request limits.
Not Navigation Advice
Naviger is not an electronic chart display, official chart, pilotage system, collision-avoidance system, weather warning service, or navigation authority. It does not replace official nautical charts, notices to mariners, local regulations, depth information, traffic schemes, onboard instruments, or the judgement of the skipper and crew.
Route And Data Limitations
Routes may be wrong, incomplete, delayed, unsafe, or unsuitable. Land, coastline, no-go, depth, wind, current, and forecast data may be coarse, synthetic, unavailable, outdated, or inaccurate. Safety margins and generated instructions are advisory only.
User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for deciding whether, when, and how to sail or operate a vessel. You must check official charts, forecasts, depth, weather warnings, restricted areas, traffic, vessel limitations, fuel, crew capability, and local conditions before acting on any route.
Permitted Use
You may use Naviger for personal passage planning. You must not overload the service, bypass access controls or request limits, scrape the API or automate requests, attack the service, or use it for unlawful activity. You must not enter unlawful content into the service, including in no-go zone names, vessel profile names or messages to the operator.
Complaints
Send complaints about the service by email to a.lazinski99@gmail.com. Describe the problem and, if relevant, the route settings and any error message or reference code shown. The operator will reply by email within 14 days of receiving the complaint.
No Warranties
The service is provided as is and as available. No warranty is given that the service, routes, forecasts, maps, calculations, exports, or instructions are accurate, complete, safe, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.
Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for losses, damage, injury, delay, grounding, collision, fuel shortage, missed arrival windows, data loss, or other consequences arising from use of or reliance on Naviger. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Privacy
Use of the service is also subject to the Privacy Notice, which explains what data is processed and why.
Provider Information
Provider identification, contact, and copyright/takedown information is available on the Imprint page.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the service changes.
